Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep. -

Some days it brings relief as my body generates a lot of heat, other days I can't even lay on it for 10 minutes. It's easier on a softer surface for me and I only have a level 1

I find my mat fantastic for stress relief and help with sleeping. I've been using it daily now for 10 days for at least 20 mins and feel that the tension I carry around my shouldes and neck area has dissolved and as a result my posture has improved.

Of course, the Shakti Mat can be a bit intimidating at first. The first few minutes were a bit rough, but getting off it is the hardest part in my opinion. It can feel like you're ripping off a thousand bandaids at once! I wouldn't change anything though. Once you get past that initial discomfort, it's pure bliss!! I love my Shakti! Using it before bed is super relaxing, sometimes I could almost fall asleep! As someone who carries so much tension in their shoulders/upper back, Shakti has helped me lighten the load. I couldn't recommend it enough! If you were looking for a sign to try it, here it is. You won't regret it!!!

Strano a dirsi ma è stato un contatto assolutamente naturale da subito, come un massaggio vigoroso ma benefico, talmente piacevole da indurre dopo poco minuti uno stato di rilassamento più profondo del solito. Sensazioni brutte proprio nessuna. Pungente... al mattino sotto la pianta dei piedi appena sveglia è una sferzata energica ma perfetta per riattivare tutto il corpo e affrontare la giornata! Ora lo uso anche localmente dopo allenamenti particolarmente pesanti sulle parti del corpo più doloranti e.... funziona anche così!

Amazing!! We love all of our Shakti products. We have both level 1 and 2 May and pillow. As well as the weighted wrap, eye pillow and headband.
My husband who is recovering from a torn Achilles, uses the pillow to rest his ankles on while he lays in the mat. My teenage Son uses the headband for headaches, it works every time. I love my level 1 Mat, especially with the heated wrap inside. I’m currently recovering from having stage 3 cancer and enjoy ever second of peace and healing that I get from all of your products.
